Mornin’, Daisy!

Silence after the storms.

Sun is playing peek-a-boo through the clouds.

Daisy’s looking to catch a few rays . . .

Abloom

I tried not to get my hopes up about the possibility that my newly planted flowers would produce. I told myself that they’d been traumatized and would need some time to adjust. But, lo and behold, a bloom. A sign of life. And in just a few days, to my surprise, a whole garden abloom . . .1st ZinniaCaptured with my Nikon D5600 using the 18-55 mm and a macro +10 lens.

Anniversary Rose

DSC_0008

Celebrating 20 years together. One of the beautiful roses in the bouquet.

This was captured using our new Nikon D5600 DSLR with a standard UV filter and macro +2 lens. I didn’t add any enhancements simply because I wanted a raw photo – as is – to get used to the camera. I love the details in the petals as well as the imperfections.

Eye Popping

Captured with an old point-and-shoot, but I still love the vibrant contrasts. I don’t remember where this was taken, but I felt lucky with the shot – the blur of the background and front edge versus the crispness of the center and outer petals.
